Student Grants
County Dublin VEC in conjunction with the Department of Education and Skills administers a means-tested Student Grant scheme that offers financial support to students attending universities, Institutes of technology and approved PLC colleges.
County Dublin VEC administers the Student Grant Scheme for the following course types, as presecribed for under the Student Grant Scheme 2011
- Honours Degree and Post Graduate Courses at Universities in Ireland for students who have already obtained a Higher Certificate or Ordinary Degree
- Honours Degree and Post Graduate Courses at Institutes of Technology
- Degree Courses in Universities in other EU Member States for students who have already obtained a Higher Certificate or Ordinary Degree
- Higher Certificate and Ordinary Degree at Institutes of Technology.
- Full-time approved courses at approved PLC Colleges

How to Apply
County Dublin VEC operates the Student Grant Scheme 2011 for the award of grants for attendance at Post Leaving Certificate courses and Institutes of Technology and in certain circumstances for attendance at courses in Universities and other Third-Level Institutions in the UK and other EU member states to candidates who are eligible for the award of such grants in accordance with the terms of the Student Grant Scheme 2011.
Application forms and copies of the Scheme and relevant legislation and regulations can be downloaded or you can apply online from www.studentfinance.ie. You can also obtain them by post, or by calling in to County Dublin VEC, Student Grants Section, 1 Tuansgate, Belgard Square East, Tallaght, Dublin 24. Tel. 4529647 . Our opening hours (phones and public office) are currently 9.15am to 12.30pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Phone lines and public office are closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
