Local Voluntary Youth Groups Grant Scheme
The Scheme aims to provide support for Voluntary Youth Clubs and Groups working with young people at local level. It is our hope to make the grant scheme as accessible and user friendly as possible, while ensuring the young people who participate in the clubs and groups receive the maximum benefit.
A range of grants are available. There is no specific closing date for registration or grant applications as the scheme is organised throughout the year.
Youth Club Annual Grant Scheme
The annual grant will provide youth groups with assistance towards their annual administration and programme costs. Youth Clubs must be registered with County Dublin VEC to avail of services and grants.
Voluntary Youth Club Registration Conditions

The Youth Club or Groups must be situated within the boundaries of County Dublin VEC catchment area. This includes South County Dublin, Fingal and DunLaoghaire / Rathdown excluding the borough of Dun Laoghaire.

The Club/ Groups must have youth work as its primary focus.

The Club/ Group must be voluntary and all participation must be of a voluntary nature.

The Club Group must have a minimum of ten members between ten and twenty-one years

The Club/ Group must provide a range of programmes of a recreational and educational nature on a regular basis.

The Club/Group should have at least two voluntary adult youth leaders working with a mimimum of ten members and a minimum ratio of at least one to ten with additional numbers of young people.

The Club/Group should have a voluntary management committee with elected officers.

The Club/ Group must have adequate insurance cover for all aspects of their programme.

Records such as income and expenditure, accounts, petty cash, minutes of meetings, correspondence, a register of members must be kept. The records must be available to County Dublin VEC on request.

The Club/ Group should have Child Protection Procedures

The Club/ Group should have a safety statement.

At all times the Club/ Group should carry out its activities in a safe and responsible manner

The Club Group must agree to County Dublin VEC regulations
TRAINING GRANT
Groups may apply for a subsidy towards the training costs of volunteers
SPECIAL YOUTH GRANTS
These grants are once off in nature and intended to aid special youth work initiatives, particularly those aimed at disadvantaged young people.
Start Up Grant
This grant is designed for new youth groups in need of assistance to begin their programmes.
Special Activity/ Programme Grant
This grant is to enable clubs or groups to initiate a programme not previously undertaken. The programme must be educational and involve young people in new skills.
Development Grant
This grant will enable groups or clubs to undertake essential maintenance projects covering areas such as health, safety and security.
Youth Sports Grant
The scheme aims to provide support for voluntary Sports Clubs and Groups working with young people at local level.
Special Project Grant
This grant will be allocated to those groups undertaking special youth work initiatives in disadvantaged areas not receiving grant-aid from the DES under Grant Schemes for Special Projects to assist Disadvantaged Youth.
